Sun in Leo

The Divine Spark (Sun/Sol) meets the Leo constellation in the sky and after a long voyage, he is finally back in his kingdom. When Sol puts on the filter of Leo, the Creator emerges. He has an insatiable need to creatively express himself and be adored for it.

At this time, the matters of the heart are spotlighted blessing us with the lights of expansion and creativity. Unlike the repressive waters of Cancer, where Sol’s flame is constantly being absorbed and put out, Leo takes those same waters and transmutes them into meaningful action. Leo season is here to make our hearts as light as a feather by blessing us with courage and powerful ambition.

Sol entered the 5th sign of the zodiac wheel which corresponds to the 5th House, the House of Self-Expression. When the Sun is in Leo, it highlights our need to act on our creative endeavors, fun, ecstasy, romances, and even sex. Sol desires to create pride in all these things and fulfill the eternal inner child that motivates his will. He is filled with explosive innerG with a nature that is warm and generous.

His authority is known with a roar, as he is not above the theatrics required to maintain the center of his kingdom. He basks in his own light, as the surplus of his creative juices overflows to the ones closest to him. His loyalty to his light makes him loyal to his pursuits and affairs. Sol’s love is agape, as the sun always rises to offer us its warmth, the same can be said for when the Sun is in Leo.

Sol’s innerG being supported by the fixed fire of Leo gives him the power to transform these astral waters into ambitious pursuits. He has the capacity for constant actions and to even find the spiritual meaning behind it all. Being in the fire element amplifies his shine. It makes him very intuitive and adventurous when he comes to life; influencing him to live life from the heart. Sol wants to fill every passing minute with and on the things that he loves. There is a need to romanticize life.

When the Sun is filtered through the fixed fiery astral waters of Leo, his conscious purpose is to express the fullness of his vitality so that he may get a clear definition of self in relation to the universe. He examines himself through his actions and finds the inspiration to create the true self, His highest self (inner child). Leo wants us to find security with ourselves and our light. Also being committed enough to show up for that light every day. Sol’s seeks to not only be a beam of light for others, but also for himself.

The Sun in Leo carries an electric charge that makes him enthusiastic and daring. However, when his pride is disrupted (i.e. embarrassed, or feelings hurt) he manifests as pompous. When negatively charged, he can be ruthless in his ways to defend his ego. The courageous lion becomes cowardly and devious to protect his pride. When Sol fails to place his innerG into his projects, hobbies, and interests, the internal fire he represses builds up creating excess which redirects his fire to the yin. That innerG can look like jealousy, lying, bossiness, or even a god complex. The responsibility to always shine can create the insecurity of always having to prove your worth.

No matter where Sol is, when in Leo, he is center stage. All eyes are on him. He illuminates the room and his regal nature makes him the perfect one for the job. But his need to act on his impulses makes him the target of constant ridicule. Onlookers criticizing his boldness create an internal tug-of-war. Sol wants to be met with adoration for even taking the gamble to supply the universe with divine inspiration. He cannot take his open heart and curiosity being rejected because he truly just wants to be seen. As he is.

The Sun must never forget that it is the friction of life that grows the spirit. And every obstacle faced is building the strength of our fire. So even your critics have a divine purpose in your growth. It is what helps us truly understand our light, it is the kindle to our flame. Once Sol takes his rightful place on the throne, his blinding light will expel all those shadows. Sending them to the four corners of the Earth where they belong.

Our inner masculine nature asks us to embrace being the Creator in our lives and step into our light without shame. There is also an underscore to take up as much space as needed to shine our brightest! Shine on!
